About Me

Alison Ventura

is a professor of Kinesiology and Public Health at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Biology and a minor in Community Nutrition from the University of California, Davis. She holds Master’s degrees in Nutrition and Human Development & Family Studies and a Ph.D. in Human Development & Family Studies from the Pennsylvania State University. Her expertise is in early childhood nutrition and development, with a particular focus on understanding how parent-child feeding interactions influence the development of children’s eating behaviors, food preferences, and health outcomes.
